Surrey and Sussex Doulas

                          Antenatal, Labour and Postnatal support in Surrey and Sussex.

Surrey and Sussex Doulas is run and managed by midwives who are also mothers and so understand the needs of pregnant women and there families.  We provide the ultimate in antenatal, labour and postnatal support having had between us years of experience in midwifery, health visiting, nursing, Hypnobirthing®, shiatsu and baby massage to name but a few.

 

We pride ourselves on providing a service to you and your family that is personalised to your needs and respectful of your wishes.  This is because your pregnancy and birth is a unique and special life event and as Doulas we are here to support the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the whole family.

 

We have no time frame or agenda and are there to support you and your family and to be an advocate for your wishes.  We strongly believe in your ability to birth your baby naturally but, as midwives as well as mothers, we recognise that not all births will go as expected.   We do however passionately believe that every birth can be a beautiful and special event HOWEVER you birth your baby.

 

We live in West Sussex (on the Surrey border) but have looked after women in London and cover most areas of Surrey and Sussex.

We will not provide any midwifery care.  All midwifery care will be provided by a practicing midwife either in hospital or at home. A doula is not supporting the mother in a clinical role, that remains the job of the midwife/medical staff.
