If you choose the birth support package you can be sure of continuous support and assistance throughout your labour.  We will meet you at least twice while you are still pregnant where we will help you write your birth plan.  These meetings also provide an opportunity to build a friendship and through this, a feeling of mutual respect and trust.  We will then be on call for your birth for two weeks before and two weeks after your due date and during this time you will have unlimited access to us by phone.  We will attend your birth (home or hospital) and provide continuous support and practical, emotional, physical and spiritual guidance throughout labour (however long that might be).  We also provide a birth diary noting important events in your labour as part of the package and can provide birth photography extra if required.  In the postnatal period we will visit you once when we can assist you with feeding, baby care, babysitting etc.

Even though we are trained midwives we will not provide any midwifery care.  However we use our skills in a positive way to assist you to labour in the most effective way.  One way we do this is by supporting you in your labour at home and making sure you do not go into hospital to early.
